  • How do I make a booking?

    In order to make a booking, first check the availability of the property (select the dates of the week you want to book via our "Check availability and price" button on the home page). If the property is not available for your chosen dates, we will suggest the nearest dates we have available. If the property is available for your chosen dates, please click on the orange "Book Now" button and fill in the form. Once you have filled in our booking form, we will hold the booking for you for two days in order to give you time to get the 35% deposit to us. You can pay us by debit/credit card, by bank transfer or by French euro cheque.

  • When will I get my security deposit back?

    Your security deposit will be returned after we have inspected the property - within 14 days of departure.

  • How much is the security deposit?

    The security deposit is 4000 euros.

  • Do I need to clean the property at the end of my stay?

    No cleaning is included in all our rentals, but you will still need to remove all rubbish (both inside and outside the property) on your day of departure.

  • Is cleaning included in the rental cost?

    Yes, the cost of cleaning the property at the end of your stay is included within the rental cost.

  • What are the arrival and departure times?

    Please arrive between 16:00 and 19:00. You will need to vacate the property by 10:00 on your day of departure (or 10:00 for weekends and short stays only).

  • Does the price include free use of the WiFi internet?

    Yes

  • Does the price include firewood?

    Yes.

  • Can I smoke inside the property?

    Our property is non-smoking, but you can, of course, smoke outside.

  • When will I need to pay the balance of the booking?

    The balance of the booking is due 8 weeks before your arrival date. If you are making your booking less than 8 weeks before your arrival date you will need to make full payment at the time of booking.

  • Does the price include heating, water and electricity?

    Yes, subject to reasonable usage.

  • Can I bring my dog/cat?

    Yes, animals are accepted in our property, your pets therefore will be welcome (subject to our prior written approval).

  • Can you hold a period for me while I make my decision?

    Yes, you can hold a booking for a period of 24 hours without any obligation by checking availability on our website and filling in our 'Hold Now' form.

  • Do you give a discount for bookings of more than one week?

    Sorry, we don't offer a discount.

  • Is there cleaning equipment available?

    Yes and a selection of cleaning products.

  • Do you accept cheques-vacances?

    No, not at the present time.

  • Can you recommend a holiday insurance company?

    Yes, Aduciel - www.aduciel.fr. where you can take out a fixed-price cancellation policy.

  • Does the price include linen and towels ?

    Yes. Towels and linen are included, and beds will be made up for your arrival.

  • Do you offer short stays?

    Unfortunately, we cannot offer stays any shorter than a week — Saturday to Saturday. You can, of course, leave earlier than Saturday, but the price of the rental is not reduced.

  • What is the capacity of the property?

    The chalet Beauvoir 12 can accommodate 12 people, including children and babies. If there are more than 12 people in your group, you can also rent the apartment Beauvoir 4 (for four people) located 30 metres away.

  • How far away from the property are the shops?

    The property is 1.50 km away from the village centre of St Jean de Sixt, where there are some small shops and 1.50 km from the nearest big supermarket.

  • Do I need a car to get to your property?

    Yes, you will need a vehicle to reach our property.

  • What is the altitude of the property?

    The altitude is 1110 metres.

  • How far away is the bus stop for the ski bus?

    The nearest stop for the ski bus is 1.50 km from the property.

  • How many car parking spaces are there?

    At the property, there are:

  • How do I find the property and collect the keys?

    We will send you an email a few weeks before the start of your holiday that will contain full arrival details together with all contact details (telephone and email). Upon your arrival, you will be given the keys and advice relating to the property and the local area, and answers to any questions you might have. You will also be asked to pay the 4000 euros security deposit. You will also be asked to pay the local Tourist Tax in relation to your group and the length of your stay.

  • Do I need snow chains?

    It is a legal requirement that snow chains must be carried when driving on mountain roads in France during the winter months (from 1st December to 30th April), even for 4x4s. If you are hiring a car make sure that they are provided.

  • How long will it take to get to ?

  • Is there an enclosed outside area for small children to play in?

    No

  • Do you have a raclette grill?

    Yes

  • Can you recommend a ski hire shop?

    To rent great ski equipment at the best prices, please visit St Jean Sport.

  • Will I need a car to go skiing?

    As the ski pistes are around 4.00 km away, we recommend transport.

  • Are the roads regularly cleared of snow?

    All the local roads are regularly cleared of snow by the local commune as required. They are though not cleared from approximately 21:00 until 07:00.

  • What are the bedroom and bed details?

    First Floor

    Bedroom 1: 1 double bed (160X200) + an ensuite bathroom with bath, hand basin and wc.

    Bedroom 2: 1 double bed (160X200) + an ensuite shower room with shower, hand basin and wc.

    Bedroom 4: 2 single beds and a pull-out bed (90X200)

    Bedroom 5: 2 single beds and a pull-out bed (90X200)

    There is a further shower room with shower and hand basin on this floor, plus an independent wc.

    Ground Floor

    Bedroom 3: 2 single beds (90X200)

    There is a shower room with shower and hand basin on this floor and an independent wc.

    There is also an additional shower and a further independent wc in the spa area.

    We can also provide two extra folding beds (for children) with adequate linen, duvets, pillows etc. which you are welcome to use to give more flexibility, for example, if you prefer very young children to sleep in your room with you rather than in other bedrooms further away.

    However please be aware that no matter how the beds are configured the maximum capacity for this chalet is 12 people. Each extra person staying at the chalet will be asked to pay 250€ extra.

  • What do I do if I break something or something stops working during my stay?

    We realise that "accidents can (and do) happen". If something is broken or stops working during your stay, please let us know straight away.

  • Do you have a fondue set?

    Yes

  • Is there a nursery in St Jean de Sixt?

    There is no child-care centre in St Jean de Sixt but you can enquire in La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand where there are facilities.

  • How long will it take to get to Geneva airport?

    Yes we can arrange a baby sitter / child minder. Please ask us for details once you have secured your booking.

  • Can you recommend any local products or services?

    Yes, there is a 600 m2 garden.

  • Do you have a barbecue available?

    Yes, an electric barbecue is available at the property.

  • Can you give me more information about your jacuzzi?

    The outdoor jacuzzi holds 8 people. The temperature of the water is set at around 38°C.

  • The property is right by the train station.

  • Can you give me more information about your outdoor swimming pool?

    The outdoor pool is 9 metres long x 4 metres wide. It's heated to a temperature of 28°C in summer and 28°C in winter. It's equipped with the following:

  • Can you provide a baby's cot?

    Yes, there is a cot in our chalet, with bed linen provided for it. We can lend other baby accessories, so please contact us when you have made your booking to arrange.

  • Can you arrange additional cleaning during our stay?

    Yes, this is usually possible. We will contact you after you have made your booking to find out if you have any special requirements.

  • Could you give me more information regarding the year-round swimming pool and the outdoor jacuzzi?

    The swimming pool in front of the chalet is heated up to 29°C (84°F) all year round. It is equipped with a counter current. For children's safety, it is secured by a rigid blind which can only be opened with a key.

    The outdoor jacuzzi for 6 people is heated up to 39°C (102°F) all year round. For children's safety, it is protected by a rigid cover that can only be handled by 2 adults.

  • How far away are the ski slopes?

    The nearest ski slopes are 4.00km from the property, where parking is available. Please ask for directions when you arrive.

  • Where is the nearest ski school?

    It's often possible to book ski instructors for the quieter ski resort of St Jean de Sixt — the perfect place for beginners. Get in touch with La Clusaz ESF for more information.

  • How frequent are the buses?

    The St Jean de Sixt ski area prices are much lower, and the cross-country ski track is free.

  • Are the ski buses free?

    The lifts open at 09:00 and close between 16:30 and 17:00
